Nala’s Notes

Dear Friends,

Mom keeps telling everyone that farm life is peaceful. I’d like to officially report that this is only partially true.

Just after our beautiful hummingbird paint night, Mother Nature decided to throw one impressive windstorm. Farm signs went flying down the road, the cabana tried to relocate itself and, just for a little extra excitement, the wind actually tipped over the outhouse. I’ll spare you the details, but let’s just say...it wasn’t pretty.

Just when Mom and her grandson Grant thought they had everything back under control, the cows Shadow and Moon decided it was time for a late-night snack. Apparently, they discovered that gates are merely suggestions and helped themselves to the premium alfalfa buffet.

I’ve never seen two cows look so pleased with themselves. Mom and Grant? Not so much.

After a week like that, everyone was tired, a little dirty and definitely ready for bed. Fortunately, the signs were rescued, the cabana survived, the outhouse is back where it belongs and Shadow and Moon are once again behaving... at least for now. Life on a farm is never boring.

Until next month,

Nala, Director of Logistics
