Weed the Garden of Life...Often

This is shared in honor of my late husband, Scott Jordan, on the two-year anniversary of his passing. His voice, his humor, his words, his ways, and his spirit continue to guide Sunnyside Up Farm and all of us who loved him. He’s a steady reminder to turn off the noise and get back to basics.

Scott was a hardworking man of integrity who remained dedicated to his work and this land until he left this earth far too early at the age of 61. Together, we built and cared for our property beginning in 2003, pouring our time, effort, and shared vision into what became Sunnyside Up Farm. After Scott crossed over, the decision was made to continue what we started and to further steward the land with intention, ensuring the farm remains active, sustainable, and preserved.

In life Scott taught “weed the garden of life often”. What he meant is to never take advantage of relationships. Once a year he’d insist that he and I have a date night to talk about our goals, our future, and what things no longer served us. He said “when you don’t sit with the love of your life, you will miss the opportunities for true growth in the right direction”. If not, then weeds can take over life and relationships. So the lesson is to weed the garden often...and forgive fast.

Scott had a fun sense about him; he cared; he taught. He loved life and he lived it to the fullest. He was NOT afraid to say I LOVE YOU and he meant it.
