More Than a Farmstand
The Story Behind Sunnyside Up
If someone had asked me a year ago what Sunnyside Up was, I probably would have smiled and said, “It’s our little honor-system farmstand.” Today, my answer is a little different.
Sunnyside Up has become more than a place to buy fresh eggs, garden vegetables or handcrafted goods. It has become a place where people gather, slow down, learn something new, share conversations, discover hidden talents and reconnect with the things that matter most. It all began with a shared belief between my husband, Scott, and me.
We believed life wasn’t meant to be lived in constant distraction. We dreamed of creating a place where people could turn off the noise, get back to basics and rediscover the simple joys that are often forgotten in our busy lives. After Scott’s passing, those words became more than a dream. They became a promise.
As I began rebuilding my own life, I realized something unexpected. Whether we’re grieving, embracing recovery, entering retirement, raising a family or simply searching for a slower pace, every one of us eventually reaches a season when we must decide what will fill the empty spaces in our lives.
For us, those spaces have been filled with gardens, animals, art, workshops, meaningful conversations and an incredible community of people who continue to show up with open hearts and willing hands.
That is what Sunnyside Up has become. And we’re just getting started.
With the support of family, friends and our growing community, we’re excited to begin building the next chapter through Sunnyside Up on Stormy Lane. While it’s still taking shape, our vision includes a second farmstand, miniature farm animals, gardens, workshops and meaningful experiences that invite people to reconnect with themselves, one another and the land.
If you’d like to learn more about how Sunnyside Up began, what inspires us and where we’re headed, we invite you to visit our newly updated website and read the full version of Our Story...and Our Why. We hope you’ll take a few minutes to explore the journey that brought us here and the vision we’re building for the future.
Because sometimes all it takes is one place...to turn off the noise, get back to basics, and find your next chapter.
